The “First Breath” blank greeting card is made from J.D. Mayhew’s original silkscreen. James Davis Mayhew was one of the North Coast’s most outstanding marine and wildlife artists. He was a master etcher, painter, and illustrator. Mayhew was also one of the original members of the Mendocino Whale War Association, which protested commercial whaling off the Mendocino Coast and launched the first Whale Festival. Sized at 5″ x 7,” these cards are easy to put into a regular picture frame to double as wall or table art. Set of 6 cards, all the same image, with matching envelopes included. (Individual cards are available for sale in the museum.)
